Egységeleme is a Hungarian term that translates to "unit element" or "identity element" in English. An egységeleme is an element within a set that, when combined with any other element in that set using a specific binary operation, leaves the other element unchanged.

For example, in the set of integers with the operation of addition, the egységeleme is 0. This is because for any integer 'a', a + 0 = 0 + a = a. Similarly, in the set of non-zero rational numbers with the operation of multiplication, the egységeleme is 1. For any non-zero rational number 'b', b * 1 = 1 * b = b.
