Egypártrendszeres
Egypártrendszeres refers to a political system where only one political party is legally allowed to exist and hold power. This party effectively controls the government and all aspects of public life. Other political parties are either banned outright or are so severely restricted that they cannot effectively challenge the ruling party's dominance. In such systems, the ruling party often propagates an official ideology that all citizens are expected to adhere to. Elections, if held, typically involve only candidates approved by the single party, rendering them non-competitive and serving primarily as a formality to legitimize the existing power structure. Historical and contemporary examples of eggyártrendszeres states exist across various political ideologies, from communist regimes to authoritarian nationalist governments. The concentration of power within a single party can lead to a lack of political pluralism, suppression of dissent, and limited individual freedoms. Decision-making processes are centralized within the party apparatus, and accountability to the wider population is often minimal. The term itself is Hungarian, translating literally to "one-party system."
