Egyenfeszültség

Egyenfeszültség, often abbreviated as DC voltage, refers to an electric potential that maintains a constant polarity over time. This means that the flow of electric charge is unidirectional, always moving from a higher potential to a lower potential. Unlike alternating voltage (AC voltage), where the polarity and magnitude of the voltage change periodically, DC voltage remains steady.

The most common source of DC voltage is a battery, which chemically converts stored energy into electrical energy. Other sources include solar cells, which convert light energy into electricity, and DC power supplies, which convert AC voltage to DC voltage.

DC voltage is fundamental to the operation of many electronic devices. Batteries in portable electronics like smartphones, laptops, and remote-controlled toys provide DC power. Many electronic circuits, such as those found in computers and integrated circuits, require a stable DC voltage to function correctly.

The unit of measurement for electric potential, including both AC and DC voltage, is the volt (V). The magnitude of the DC voltage determines the electrical "pressure" that drives current through a circuit. For example, a 1.5V AA battery provides a lower DC voltage than a 12V car battery. Understanding the difference between AC and DC voltage is crucial in electronics and electrical engineering for proper circuit design and troubleshooting.
