Eggenberg

Eggenberg is a district of Graz, the capital of Styria, Austria. Located to the west of the historic inner city, it combines residential areas with parks and cultural sites. The district owes its name to Schloss Eggenberg, a Baroque palace that dominates the landscape near the western edge of the city. Schloss Eggenberg was built in the 17th century for the Eggenberg family, a prominent Styrian noble house connected to the Habsburg court. The palace complex, with its ornamented façades, courtyards and formal gardens, is considered one of the principal examples of Baroque architecture in Austria and a centerpiece of Graz's cultural heritage.

In the present day, Schloss Eggenberg serves as a cultural venue and museum space, hosting exhibitions and
