Eftirfarandi

Eftirfarandi is an Icelandic term meaning "the following" and is used to introduce items or information that appear later in the text. It is common in formal writing to precede lists, clauses, or references with this word. In practice, it is often written as a single word and capitalized at the beginning of a sentence or when it serves as a heading, as in "Eftirfarandi atriði."

The term is a compound of eftir, meaning "after," and farandi, the present participle form related to fara, "to go" or "to come."
