Eetoll
Eetoll is a toll road system in the Netherlands, managed by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. It is the largest toll road system in the Netherlands, with a network of over 2,000 kilometers of roads. The system was introduced in 1995 to fund the construction and maintenance of the roads. Eetoll uses electronic toll collection, which allows drivers to pass through toll booths without stopping. The system uses a transponder, which is a small device that is mounted on the windshield of the vehicle. When the vehicle passes through a toll booth, the transponder communicates with the toll system, and the toll is automatically deducted from the account of the vehicle owner. If a vehicle does not have a transponder, it can still use the road, but it will have to pay a higher toll at the toll booth. Eetoll is a popular system among Dutch drivers, as it is convenient and efficient. However, it has also been the subject of controversy, as some drivers have criticized the system for being too expensive. Despite this, Eetoll remains an important part of the Dutch road infrastructure.
