Eburacum
Eburacum was a Roman fort and city located in what is now York, England. It was founded by the Ninth Legion in AD 71. The site was strategically important as it controlled the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss. Eburacum grew from a military base into a significant civilian settlement and was the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior.
