ERAS programok, which translates to ERAS programs, refers to the Electronic Residency Application Service. This is a centralized online application system used by medical school graduates in the United States and Canada to apply for residency training positions. The ERAS system allows applicants to submit a common set of application materials to multiple programs simultaneously, streamlining the application process.

These materials typically include a personal statement, curriculum vitae (CV), medical school transcript, letters of recommendation, and United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores. Applicants create a profile on the ERAS platform, upload their documents, and then select the residency programs to which they wish to apply. Program directors and faculty can then access these applications through the ERAS system for review.

The ERAS system is administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Its primary goal is to standardize and simplify the application process for both applicants and residency programs. By using ERAS, programs can efficiently manage a large volume of applications, and applicants can focus their efforts on crafting a strong application rather than duplicating administrative tasks. The system opens for applications typically in late summer or early fall for positions beginning the following July.
