EAF1s
EAF1s refers to a family of proteins known as ELL-associated factors 1 and its homologs across species. In humans, EAF1 encodes a nuclear protein that interacts with the RNA polymerase II elongation factor ELL and with other partners to form transcription elongation complexes. These complexes modulate transcriptional elongation by RNA Pol II, helping to release stalled polymerase and promote productive elongation of specific genes.
EAF1s function as part of the transcription elongation machinery by forming complexes with ELL and other factors
EAF1 family proteins are conserved in vertebrates and some invertebrates. They typically contain regions mediating protein–protein
EAF1 expression is detected in multiple tissues; expression can be regulated during development and differentiation.
Altered expression or function of EAF1 family members has been reported in various cancers and hematopoietic
