E2Fproteiinien
E2F proteins are a family of transcription factors that play a crucial role in cell cycle regulation and cellular differentiation. They are named after the E2F binding site, a DNA sequence to which E2F proteins bind. The E2F family includes several members, with E2F1 being the most well-studied. E2F proteins are heterodimers, consisting of an E2F protein and a related protein called DP (DP1 or DP2). The DP protein binds to the E2F binding site, while the E2F protein binds to other transcription factors, such as pRB (retinoblastoma protein), to regulate gene expression.
E2F proteins are activated during the G1 phase of the cell cycle, when the cell prepares for
E2F proteins are also involved in cellular differentiation. They can activate the transcription of genes involved
E2F proteins are important targets for cancer therapy. They are often overexpressed in cancer cells, which
