Nitrogen-rich raw materials often come from atmospheric nitrogen, which is converted into ammonia through the Haber-Bosch process. Potassium is largely sourced from potash deposits, which are ancient lake beds or ocean beds rich in potassium chloride. These deposits are mined and then processed to extract potassium salts. Major potash-producing regions include Canada, Russia, and Belarus.

Beyond these primary nutrients, secondary nutrients like sulfur, calcium, and magnesium, as well as micronutrients such as iron, zinc, and manganese, are also derived from various raw materials. Sulfur can be obtained from mining or as a byproduct of oil and gas refining. Other micronutrients are often sourced from mineral ores or industrial waste streams. The sustainable sourcing and efficient utilization of these düngemittelrohstoffe are crucial for modern agriculture and global food security.
