Dyrrhachius
Dyrrhachius was an ancient Greek city located on the Adriatic coast, in modern-day Albania. It was founded by colonists from Corinth and Corcyra in the 7th century BCE. The city was strategically important due to its excellent natural harbor, which made it a significant trading post and a naval base. Its Greek name was Epidamnos, but it later became known as Dyrrhachium under Roman rule.
