Dyersville

Dyersville is a city located in Delaware County, Iowa, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the city has a population of approximately 4,815 residents. Dyersville is situated in the northeast part of Iowa, approximately 60 miles west of Dubuque and 55 miles east of Cedar Rapids.

The city was founded in 1844 and was originally named Benton before its name was changed to Dyersville in 1846. The town's name is attributed to a local resident, James Dyers, who owned a nearby sawmill. Dyersville was a major farming community in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with many residents involved in agriculture and livestock production.
