Dorlómin

Dorlómin is a region in the northwestern part of Beleriand, in J.R.R. Tolkien's Legendarium. It is a fertile and well-watered land, known for its rolling hills and abundant forests. The region was granted to the House of Hador by the High King Thingol of Doriath in the First Age, and it became their ancestral homeland.

The most prominent feature of Dorlómin is the hill of Amon Gwareth, upon which the fortress of Hithlum was built. This strategic location allowed the people of Dorlómin to watch over the plains and borders of their territory. The people of Hador were renowned for their strength and courage, and they played a significant role in the wars against Morgoth.

Among the notable inhabitants of Dorlómin were Húrin Thalion and his family, including his son Túrin Turambar and daughter Niënor Níniel. Húrin was a mighty warrior and a key figure in many of the great battles of the First Age. His family's tragic story is deeply intertwined with the history of Dorlómin and Beleriand.

The region was eventually devastated during the War of Wrath, as was the rest of Beleriand. The lands of Dorlómin were submerged beneath the Great Sea, and little remains of its former glory in the later ages of Middle-earth. Its memory persists through the tales of heroism and sorrow that unfolded within its borders.
