Dopplerradarit, known in English as Doppler radar, is a type of radar that uses the Doppler effect to measure the velocity of objects in relation to the radar instrument. The Doppler effect is the change in frequency of a wave in relation to an observer who is moving relative to the wave source. In the case of Doppler radar, radio waves are transmitted and then reflected off a target. If the target is moving towards the radar, the reflected waves will have a higher frequency, and if the target is moving away, the reflected waves will have a lower frequency.
