Donörautentisering, often translated as "voice authentication" or "speaker recognition," is a biometric security process that verifies an individual's identity based on the unique characteristics of their voice. Unlike voice verification, which confirms if someone is who they claim to be, donörautentisering aims to identify an unknown speaker. This technology analyzes various phonetic and physiological aspects of a person's speech, such as pitch, tone, rhythm, and even subtle vocal tract features.

The process typically involves two stages: enrollment and verification. During enrollment, a user provides several voice samples that are analyzed to create a unique voiceprint. This voiceprint is a digital representation of their vocal characteristics. When the user attempts to access a system or service, they provide a new voice sample. This sample is then compared against the stored voiceprint. If the characteristics match within a predefined threshold, the user is authenticated.

Donörautentisering can be used in various applications, including securing access to mobile devices, financial services, and sensitive information. It offers a convenient and hands-free authentication method, but its accuracy can be affected by background noise, changes in a person's vocal health, or the use of voice-altering devices.
