Distriktsvärmesystem

Distriktsvärmesystem, often translated as district heating, is a system for distributing heat generated in a centralized plant to multiple buildings or a larger area. This heat can be produced from various sources, including combined heat and power (CHP) plants, industrial waste heat, biomass boilers, geothermal energy, and even solar thermal collectors. The heat is typically transported through a network of insulated underground pipes filled with hot water or steam.

The primary advantage of distriktsvärmesystem is its efficiency and potential for reduced environmental impact. Centralized generation allows for economies of scale and the use of more advanced, cleaner technologies than might be feasible for individual buildings.
