Dimposta

Dimposta is not a standard term in contemporary Italian. It is not commonly listed as a separate concept in major dictionaries and is often encountered as a misspelling or as a contracted form of di imposta (d’imposta) in phrases meaning “of tax” or “tax-related.” When used in this way, the intended meaning is typically conveyed by the two-word construction di imposta or the contracted d’imposta, rather than by a single word.

Linguistically, the elision in Italian can produce forms like d’imposta when di precedes a vowel, but such occurrences are usually written as d’imposta rather than dimposta. As a standalone word, dimposta does not have an established meaning in standard Italian, and its appearance is usually due to typographical error or nonstandard usage.

In historical or legal texts, you may still encounter the form d’imposta as part of longer expressions such as aliquota d’imposta (tax rate) or base d’imposta. In modern Italian, however, these expressions are typically written in two words: aliquota di imposta or base di imposta. Dimposta can also appear as a surname or within brand or entity names, where it operates as a proper noun rather than a tax term.
