Digitaalkamerate

Digitaalkamerate, commonly known as digital cameras, are electronic devices used to capture images and videos by recording them onto a digital sensor. Unlike their film-based predecessors, digital cameras store photographic information as binary data. This allows for immediate review of images on a built-in screen, easy deletion of unwanted shots, and transfer to computers or other devices for editing and sharing.

The core component of a digital camera is its image sensor, typically a CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) or CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) chip. These sensors convert light photons into electrical signals, which are then processed and stored as digital files, such as JPEGs or RAW files. Different sensors have varying resolutions, measured in megapixels, indicating the number of pixels that make up the image. Higher megapixel counts generally allow for more detailed images and larger prints.

Digital cameras come in a wide variety of types, ranging from compact point-and-shoot models designed for simplicity and portability to advanced Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) and mirrorless cameras favored by professionals and enthusiasts for their image quality, interchangeable lenses, and manual control options. Features commonly found in digital cameras include zoom lenses, autofocus systems, image stabilization, and various shooting modes for different lighting conditions and creative effects. The ability to record video is also a standard feature in most modern digital cameras.
