Devicesmeasures is a proposed framework that standardizes how devices collect, process, and report metrics related to performance, usage, and health. It encompasses domains such as energy consumption, accuracy and latency, reliability, security, and user-interaction metrics, with the aim of enabling apples-to-apples comparisons across device types and brands.

It defines data models and APIs for telemetry, supports both active testing and passive telemetry, and emphasizes timestamped, provenance-traceable data, privacy-by-design, and interoperability. Data can be formatted in JSON, CBOR, or binary schemas; common taxonomies facilitate cross-domain analysis.

Although not codified as a single universal standard, the term appears in industry discussions and is implemented in multiple open and proprietary projects. It is used in consumer electronics, Internet of Things, and industrial equipment to benchmark efficiency, uptime, and performance. Critics argue that fragmentation and vendor-specific extensions limit true interoperability; supporters say it helps drive comparisons, cost reduction, and informed procurement.
