Developmentese

Developmentese is an informal term used to describe the simplified and repetitive language that adults often use when speaking to young children. It is characterized by a higher pitch, slower tempo, exaggerated intonation, and a smaller vocabulary. This speech pattern is also sometimes referred to as child-directed speech or motherese.
