Desina
Desina is a genus of moths in the family Erebidae. The genus was erected by Achille Guenée in 1852. Species within this genus are typically found in the Afrotropical realm, with some species also extending into the Oriental region. The adult moths exhibit a range of colors and patterns, often providing camouflage against their natural surroundings. Their larvae, like those of other moths, go through several instars before pupating and metamorphosing into adults. The exact host plants for many Desina species are not extensively documented, which is a common challenge in Lepidopteran research. Further taxonomic and ecological studies are ongoing to better understand the distribution, life cycles, and conservation status of this genus.
