DerryLondonderry is the common name for the city officially known as Londonderry, located in Northern Ireland. The city is situated on the River Foyle and is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland, after Belfast. Its dual name reflects a historical and political division, with some people, particularly within the unionist community, preferring the name Londonderry, while many in the nationalist community favor Derry. This naming convention is often a sensitive issue and can be a marker of political identity.

The city boasts a rich history, with significant periods of settlement dating back to the early Christian era. It is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved 17th-century city walls, which are the last fully intact city walls in Ireland and one of the best examples in Europe.
