Dentinre is a term that refers to the reparative dentin that forms in response to stimuli such as cavity preparation, attrition, or caries. This type of dentin is laid down by odontoblasts, the cells responsible for dentin formation. Unlike primary or secondary dentin, reparative dentin is formed by newly differentiated odontoblasts or by existing odontoblasts that have been stimulated to increase their secretory activity.
