Denasalized
Denasalized refers to a speech sound that has lost its nasal quality. Nasal sounds, like the 'm' in "man" or 'n' in "no", are produced with the velum lowered, allowing air to pass through the nose. When a sound is denasalized, the velum is raised, blocking the nasal passage and preventing air from escaping through the nose. This results in the sound being produced more like its oral counterpart.
