Deltatocopherol

Deltatocopherol is a form of vitamin E, specifically one of the eight naturally occurring compounds belonging to the tocopherol and tocotrienol families. Tocopherols are characterized by a chromanol ring and a phytyl side chain. The delta isomer is distinguished by the position of methyl groups on the chromanol ring. In deltatocopherol, there are methyl groups at positions 5, 7, and 8 on the ring.

Like other forms of vitamin E, deltatocopherol is fat-soluble and acts as an antioxidant.
