Deinkinglaitteet

Deinkinglaitteet are equipment used in the recycling of paper to remove printing ink from recovered fibers during the deinking process. They are installed in deinking lines of pulp and paper mills producing graphic or packaging papers from recovered paper. The goal is to improve pulp brightness and cleanliness, enhance printability, and reduce ink content in downstream products and rejects.

Common types include flotation deinking cells, which use air bubbles to carry ink particles to the surface; washing stages, where fibers are rinsed to remove soluble ink and fines; and centrifugal cleaners or hydrocyclones that separate heavy contaminants. Other components include screening, dispersion equipment, and thickening or filtration units that prepare the fiber for stock preparation.

Process overview: after repulping and coarse screening, the pulp slurry is sent to flotation where chemical additives such as surfactants and dispersants aid ink detachment. The ink-laden froth is skimmed, while cleaned fiber moves to washing and subsequent thickening and dewatering before stock preparation for the paper machine. The exact configuration varies by mill and product requirements.

Performance is defined by ink removal efficiency, fiber loss, and dirt content. Deinking equipment aims to balance high ink removal with acceptable fiber retention while controlling chemical use, energy demand, and wastewater load. Economic and environmental considerations drive ongoing optimization of deinking lines.
