Defensivbündnisse

Defensivbündnisse, also known as defensive alliances, are agreements between two or more states to come to each other's aid in the event of an attack by a third party. The primary purpose of such alliances is to deter aggression by increasing the potential cost for an aggressor. By pooling their military resources and committing to mutual defense, member states aim to create a collective security arrangement that makes attacking any one member less appealing due to the prospect of facing the combined strength of the alliance.

These alliances are typically formed based on shared geopolitical interests, perceived threats, or ideological alignments. The terms of a defensivbündnis can vary significantly.
