Daylle

Daylle is a town and administrative center in the Veridian region of the fictional country of Veridia. It sits in the Daylle Valley along the Daylle River, roughly 60 kilometers northeast of the regional capital, Ardentia. The town has a population of about 8,000 and covers an area near 60 square kilometers. Its landscape includes fertile valley floors with surrounding low hills.

Daylle’s economy is primarily agricultural, with orchards and vineyards forming the backbone. Small-scale manufacturing and a modest tourism sector, focused on historical sites and local crafts, complement farming activity. The town serves as a local market hub for surrounding villages and hamlets.

Historically, Daylle emerged as a settlement in the 13th century and received municipal rights in the 15th century. Fortifications were built in the medieval period to defend against regional raids, and the arrival of the railway in the 19th century spurred growth and integration with wider markets.

The climate is temperate, with four distinct seasons and average annual rainfall around 700–800 millimeters. The surrounding countryside supports diverse flora and seasonal agricultural cycles.

Culturally, Daylle hosts a yearly Harvest Festival and maintains a historic core centered on the Market Square, a cathedral, and the Old Town Hall. The local dialect reflects Veridian linguistic influences, and traditional crafts remain an active part of community life.

Governance is by a mayor and a municipal council elected for four-year terms. Daylle is connected to regional road networks and offers regular bus services to the adjacent towns and the regional capital.
