Dataverkkoon

Dataverkkoon is the illative form of the Finnish noun dataverkko, meaning “data network.” In Finnish, the illative case expresses direction into something, so dataverkkoon translates roughly as “into the data network” or “to the data network.” The word is a compound of data and verkko (network).

In IT and networking discourse, dataverkko refers to networks primarily used for data transfer, storage, or processing. The illative form dataverkkoon is used when indicating movement into or access within such a network, for example in phrases like tiedot siirrettiin dataverkkoon (the data was transferred into the data network) or käyttäjä liittyi dataverkkoon (the user joined the data network).
