Dataingestie

Dataingestie is a data ingestion platform designed to unify the collection, normalization, and routing of data from diverse sources into centralized analytics environments. It supports both batch and streaming ingestion, with pluggable connectors and a policy-driven processing pipeline that ensures data is readily available for data lakes, data warehouses, and downstream analytics workloads. The design emphasizes scalability, reliability, and extensibility for enterprise use.

Architecturally, Dataingestie comprises an ingestion layer, a processing layer, a routing layer, a storage layer, and a metadata catalog with observability tooling. The ingestion layer provides source adapters for databases, message queues, file stores, and streaming platforms; the processing layer handles normalization and schema enforcement; the routing layer directs data to destinations; and the storage layer keeps raw and curated data. It supports schema evolution, backpressure handling, exactly-once delivery, and role-based access control.

Supported inputs include relational databases, NoSQL stores, cloud storage, message queues, IoT streams, and file-based feeds. Outputs span cloud data lakes, data warehouses, and on-prem repositories. Data formats commonly handled are JSON, Avro, Parquet, CSV, and XML, with options for custom parsers. The platform includes scheduling, triggers, and streaming pipelines to align with organizational workflows.

Dataingestie originated as an open-source project released by the DataForge Consortium in 2018 to address interoperability challenges in enterprise data ingestion. It has evolved through community contributions and commercial offerings, with integrations for major cloud providers and popular data tools.
