DNAChromatin
DNAChromatin refers to the complex formed between DNA and proteins, primarily histones, which constitutes the genetic material within eukaryotic cells. This complex is essential for packaging the vast amount of DNA into a manageable volume that fits inside the cell nucleus. The basic structural unit of chromatin is the nucleosome, which consists of about 147 base pairs of DNA wrapped around a core of eight histone proteins. These nucleosomes are then further compacted into higher-order structures, ultimately forming the visible chromosomes during cell division.
The organization of DNA into chromatin is not merely a passive packaging mechanism; it plays a crucial
