DHTn

DHTn (Distributed Hash Table network) is a type of peer-to-peer network architecture that enables nodes to self-organize and maintain a decentralized, fault-tolerant, and scalable data storage and retrieval system.

In a DHTn, nodes in the network act as both client and server, storing and retrieving data through a complex network of interconnected nodes. Each node in the network stores a portion of the overall data, and through the DHTn's routing algorithm, nodes can efficiently locate and retrieve data from other nodes in the network.

DHTn is often used in peer-to-peer file sharing networks, where users can share files among themselves through a distributed network. This allows for resilient and fault-tolerant data storage, as the failure of one node does not necessarily lead to the loss of data, as other nodes in the network can continue to store and retrieve the data.

DHTn networks are designed to be extremely resilient, and can automatically adjust to the presence or absence of nodes, making them highly fault-tolerant. This allows DHTn networks to be used in a wide range of applications, including content distribution networks, peer-to-peer file sharing systems, and complex business networks.

DHTn nodes can be described as key-value pairs, where the key is a fixed string of characters and the value is the data associated with that key. Each node in the network is responsible for storing a portion of the data, and the DHTn routing algorithm allows nodes to efficiently locate and retrieve the requested data. This approach creates a highly scalable and fault-tolerant network architecture.
