DHL

DHL is a global logistics brand that forms part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, a German multinational headquartered in Bonn. It provides express mail and parcel delivery, freight forwarding, and supply chain management services worldwide.

Origins trace back to 1969, when Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn founded DHL to ship documents between the United States and Asia. Through rapid expansion of its international network, the company broadened into a full range of express, freight, and e-commerce logistics.

In 2002 Deutsche Post acquired DHL, later rebranding the parent group as Deutsche Post DHL Group. DHL now operates through several business units: DHL Express (time-definite international delivery), DHL Global Forwarding (air and ocean freight), DHL Freight (road and rail freight), DHL Supply Chain (contract logistics and warehousing), and DHL eCommerce Solutions.

It maintains a presence in more than 220 countries and territories and runs a substantial fleet of aircraft, trucks, and warehouses to support its operations.

The group emphasizes sustainability through initiatives such as GoGreen to reduce CO2 emissions, and it continues investments in alternative fuels, electric vehicles, and energy-efficient facilities.
