CôtedOr is a Belgian chocolate brand with a long history. It was founded in 1910 by Jacques de Ghellinck in Brussels, Belgium. The name "CôtedOr" is derived from the Dutch phrase "Gouden Kust" which translates to "Golden Coast," referencing the Belgian coast and its historical significance. The company has always prided itself on using high-quality cocoa beans and traditional Belgian chocolate-making techniques.

Over the years, CôtedOr has introduced several iconic chocolate products. The "Chocolat Noir" (Dark Chocolate) and "Chocolat au Lait" (Milk Chocolate) bars are among their most recognized offerings. They are also known for their pralines, a type of chocolate confection with a soft filling, often containing nuts or cream. The brand's packaging often features a distinctive gold color, reinforcing its name and premium image.

CôtedOr has undergone several ownership changes throughout its existence. It was acquired by Jacobs Suchard in 1990, and later became part of Kraft Foods in 1997.
