Cynric
Cynric, also spelled Cynric, was an early king of Wessex and is traditionally regarded as one of the founders of the Kingdom of the West Saxons. He was the son of Cerdic, and together with his father he is credited in later genealogies with establishing the royal foundation of Wessex in the early post-Roman period.
Very little is known about Cynric's life. The principal sources are late medieval chronicles and the Anglo-Saxon
