Cvstä

Cvstä is a small town and municipality in the fictional country of Veridia, located in the northeastern foothills of the Valen Mountains along the Verdi River. As of 2023, it has a population of about 6,800 residents. The local economy centers on agriculture, horticulture, and small-scale manufacturing, with a notable emphasis on fruit orchards and craft workshops.

The name Cvstä is believed to derive from an old Cvštan root meaning "flower" or "bloom," reflecting the town's historical association with gardens and seasonal festivals.

Geographically, Cvstä lies on rolling terrain that provides sheltered microclimates favorable for fruit growing. The first documentary reference appears in the 14th century, and the town gained municipal privileges in 1582. The arrival of the railway in the late 19th century spurred rapid growth and urban development.

Administratively Cvstä forms a municipality within Veridia's Valen District. It is governed by a mayor and a nine-member town council elected by residents. The population is predominantly Cvštan-speaking, with Veridian taught as a second language in schools.

Cultural life centres on the annual Cvstesh Flower Festival and a weekly farmers' market. Notable sites include the Old Clock Tower, the riverside promenade, and the Verdi Bridge. Local cuisine features honey cakes and fruit pastries.
