Cseppegtes

Cseppegtes is a fictional mineral described in speculative geology and fantasy literature. In these works, it refers to tiny translucent beads that form around drip points in subterranean environments. The beads are said to grow by the deposition of mineral-rich solutions that slowly accrete around a nucleus.

Etymology. The name comes from the Hungarian word csepp (drop) with the suffix -et-/ -es, chosen by early fictional writers to evoke droplet-like forms. The term is used primarily in regional folklore within the imagined setting and in later scholarly imitations.

Occurrence and formation. In the canon, Cseppegtes is reported from cave systems of the Verdant Range and the Island of Neral in Varundra. Formation proceeds as mineral-laden water drips onto a cold surface; successive droplets merge into pearly beads up to several millimeters in diameter. The beads are described as having high clarity and a glassy luster.

Uses and cultural significance. Within stories, Cseppegtes is valued for its aesthetic appeal and is sometimes used to craft charms or jewelry. In some legends, beads are thought to capture a traveler’s momentum or a rainstorm's memory. Scholarly references vary, and the term is used more as a narrative device than as a defined mineral species.
