Crusoot

Crusoot is a fictional planet located in the Kepler-186 star system, approximately 500 light-years from Earth. It is the fifth and outermost known planet in its system, orbiting a red dwarf star. Crusoot is classified as a terrestrial planet, with a rocky composition and a size comparable to Earth, though slightly larger. Its surface is characterized by vast, arid plains punctuated by jagged mountain ranges and deep canyons. Evidence suggests a thin atmosphere, primarily composed of nitrogen and carbon dioxide, with trace amounts of other gases.

The planet's surface temperature is significantly colder than Earth's due to its greater distance from its star and the dimmer nature of the red dwarf. Water exists on Crusoot, but primarily in the form of ice, locked within polar ice caps and subterranean reservoirs. There is no indication of liquid water on the surface. Astronomical observations have not detected any significant magnetic field, which could leave the planet exposed to stellar radiation.

The geological history of Crusoot appears to involve significant volcanic activity in its past, evidenced by extensive lava flows and volcanic formations. The planet's low gravity, estimated to be around 0.8 times that of Earth, would have implications for any potential native lifeforms, if they were to exist. Current scientific understanding suggests that Crusoot is a barren world, though further study is ongoing to ascertain its full characteristics and potential for habitability, however remote.
