The coxcomb diagram typically consists of a pair of opposite-themed categories, with the bars on one side showing a positive outcome and those on the other side showing a negative one. The x-axis represents the group or category, while the y-axis represents the value being measured. Each bar's asymmetry is proportional to the difference between the value of the category it represents and some baseline or norm.

Coxcomb diagrams are suitable for visualizing limited datasets, usually three to five categories. They are often used in fields like medicine and psychology to compare treatment outcomes, regression towards the mean, and other statistical phenomena.
