Cotreatment

Cotreatment refers to the simultaneous or sequential administration of two or more therapeutic agents for the purpose of treating a particular condition. This approach is often employed in medicine and pharmacology when a single agent may not be sufficiently effective or when combining therapies can lead to synergistic effects, improved outcomes, or reduced toxicity.

The rationale behind cotreatment can vary. In some cases, it is used to target multiple pathways or mechanisms involved in a disease process, thereby increasing the overall efficacy of the treatment.
