Cotillard

Marion Cotillard (born 30 September 1975) is a French actress and occasional singer known for her work in French and international cinema. She was born in Paris and began acting in local theatre and television before moving into film in the late 1990s.

Cotillard gained international acclaim for her portrayal of Édith Piaf in La Vie en Rose (2007), a performance that earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress. She also received the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards for the role, and she became the first performer to win an Oscar for a French-language performance.

Her subsequent work includes Christopher Nolan's Inception (2010) as Mal, and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) in a supporting role. She earned a César Award for Best Actress for Rust and Bone (2012) and received an Academy Award nomination for Two Days, One Night (2014). Other notable projects include the musical Annette (2021) and appearances in various French and European films.

Off screen, Cotillard is in a long-term partnership with actor Guillaume Canet; the couple has two children. She is involved in humanitarian and environmental causes and has served as a brand ambassador for fashion houses such as Chanel.
