Conquian

Conquian is a rummy-style card game played with a standard 52-card deck. The goal of the game is to be the first player to meld all of their cards into sets or runs, and then "go out" by laying down their final card. It is particularly popular in Mexico and parts of the United States.

The game typically involves two to four players. Players are dealt a certain number of cards, and then take turns drawing a card from either the stock pile or the discard pile, and then discarding a card. The core gameplay revolves around forming melds, which are either three or four cards of the same rank (e.g., three 7s) or three or more cards in sequential rank of the same suit (e.g., 4, 5, 6 of hearts).

A key feature of Conquian is the concept of "conquian," which means "to conquer." A player can declare "conquian" if they believe they can meld all of their cards in a single turn, including the card they just drew. If successful, they win the round immediately. If they declare "conquian" and are unsuccessful, there are often penalties.

Scoring in Conquian can vary, but typically points are awarded for cards left in opponents' hands when a player goes out. The game is often played to a predetermined score. Conquian shares similarities with other rummy games but has its own distinct rules and strategies.
