Coneguda

Coneguda is the feminine singular form of the Catalan adjective and past participle derived from the verb conèixer, meaning to know. It is used to describe something or someone as known, familiar, or well-known. For example, una ciutat coneguda refers to a well-known city, and una persona coneguda to a known or familiar person.

As an adjective, coneguda agrees with the noun in gender and number: masculine singular is conegut, masculine plural is coneguts, feminine plural is conegudes. Examples include un home conegut (a known man), uns llocs coneguts (some well-known places), and ciutats conegudes (well-known cities). The word can also appear in a passive sense within phrases like "ha estat coneguda per tots" (it has been known to all).

Etymologically, coneguda comes from conèixer, which in turn traces to the Latin cognoscere, meaning to know or become acquainted.
