Civilizatórios

Civilizatórios, also known as civilizationalists, are a group of scholars and thinkers who argue that human societies can be categorized into distinct civilizations, each with its own unique cultural, historical, and ideological characteristics. This perspective is often contrasted with the idea of a single, unified human civilization. Civilizationalists typically identify several major civilizations, including Western, Eastern, and Islamic, each with its own set of values, beliefs, and practices.

The concept of civilizatórios emerged in the late 20th century as a response to the perceived homogenization of global culture. Proponents argue that cultural diversity is a valuable asset that should be preserved and celebrated. They often emphasize the importance of understanding and respecting the differences between civilizations to promote peace and cooperation.

Critics of civilizationalism argue that the concept is overly simplistic and that it can be used to justify cultural imperialism or discrimination. They contend that human societies are more interconnected than civilizationalists acknowledge and that cultural boundaries are often fluid and porous.
