Cirkewwa

Cirkewwa, also written Ċirkewwa, is a coastal locality at the northwestern tip of Malta, within the municipality of Mellieħa. It lies along the island’s rugged coastline and forms the northern gateway to the Gozo Channel ferry service.

Gozo Channel operates regular vehicular and passenger ferries from Cirkewwa to Mgarr on the island of Gozo. The ferry terminal is the principal link between Malta and Gozo for residents and visitors, with crossings typically lasting around 25 minutes depending on weather and vessel.

The area surrounding Cirkewwa is popular with divers and snorkelers due to its clear waters, rocky coast, and nearby sea caves and coves. It also serves as a departure point for boat trips to Gozo, Comino, and various coastal sites around Malta.

Beyond the terminal, the locality features a promenade and access to nearby beaches and natural areas. It is connected by road to the rest of the Maltese mainland and is frequented by visitors using car, bus, or taxi services. The site serves as a travel hub for those heading to the Maltese islands and as a gateway to the northern coast of Malta.
