Chrodegang
Chrodegang was a Frankish bishop and statesman who lived in the 8th century. Born around 714, he rose to prominence in the court of the Carolingian mayors of the palace, eventually becoming Bishop of Metz in 742. As bishop, Chrodegang was a significant figure in the Carolingian Renaissance, a period of intellectual and cultural revival.
