Chladív

Chladív is a Czech word that translates to "coolant" or "refrigerant" in English. It refers to a substance that is used to absorb heat from one place and transfer it to another, thereby lowering the temperature of the original location. Coolants are essential in a wide range of applications, from industrial processes to everyday appliances.

In refrigeration and air conditioning systems, chladív plays a critical role in the cooling cycle. It circulates through a closed loop, evaporating at low pressure to absorb heat from the inside of a refrigerator or room, and then condensing at high pressure to release that heat elsewhere, typically to the outside environment. Common refrigerants include hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), and newer, more environmentally friendly options like hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs).

Beyond cooling, chladív is also used in internal combustion engines to prevent overheating. In this context, it's often referred to as antifreeze or engine coolant. This type of chladív is typically a mixture of water and ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, which lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of the water, ensuring the engine operates within its optimal temperature range under various conditions. The circulation of chladív in an engine's cooling system is vital for its longevity and performance.
