Chihkan
Chihkan refers to a historical Dutch fort located in Tainan, Taiwan. Construction began in 1653 during the Dutch colonial rule of Taiwan. The fort was initially named Fort Zeelandia, but the Dutch later built a smaller fort nearby called Fort Provintia. Following the Dutch withdrawal from Taiwan in 1662, the fort was occupied by Koxinga and renamed Chihkan Tower. Over centuries, the original structures have undergone significant changes and damage, with several phases of reconstruction and renovation.
The Chihkan Tower complex is now a popular tourist attraction and a significant historical site in Tainan.
