Chaperonum

Chaperonum is a genus of extinct birds belonging to the extinct family Chaperonidae. These birds lived during the Eocene epoch, approximately 56 to 34 million years ago. Fossil evidence suggests that Chaperonum was found in what is now North America. The genus was first described in the early 21st century based on fossilized remains that exhibit unique anatomical features differentiating them from other known bird groups.

The fossils attributed to Chaperonum indicate a bird of moderate size, though precise measurements are difficult to ascertain due to the fragmentary nature of some discoveries.
